Automotive Diagnostics -Where the mechanic meets the car!

Automotive diagnostics is why the mechanic and shop owner gets paid; the toughest part of the job. We feature a range of automotive diagnostic tools for automobiles and trucks that are top of the line and will make the professional money, save fleet owners big bucks, and keep specialist shops clicking right along.  Our tools can be used on virtually any type of vehicle and adaptable to small or large engines. The tool prices are wallet friendly.  You can by cheaper and less effective but not better.  The automotive diagnostic tools fall into the following categories.

PicoScope Automotive Oscilloscope Guide

Almost one hour long, our new automotive oscilloscope guide tells you all you need to know about our automotive oscilloscopes.

PicoScope 3423

PicoScope 3223

Split into easily-digestible videos, this guide covers everything from why you need an oscilloscope, to how to run simple tests and take measurements.

The automotive oscilloscope guide is available online, and is also included on our FREE automotive demo CD-ROM.

Automotive Oscilloscopes/Lab Scopes: Pico automotive oscilloscopes (lab scopes), PicoScope 3423 and PicoScope 3223 have been optimized for use in the garage by mechanics.  They use a USB port to plug into most computers, thus, allowing the computer to power the units.  These are 12 bit oscilloscopes of two and four channels and a 20MHz sample rate.  Theses scopes come bundled with PicoScope Automotive Software and computer interface cable.  Click-on the tabs on the left side of the page to see the specifications of these automotive oscilloscopes.   The standard 12 bit high performance oscilloscopes, ADC-212/3, ADC-212/50, and ADC-212/100, can be used in the roll of automotive oscilloscopes.  The ADC-212/3 was the first oscilloscope to use the Pico Technology automotive software and proved to be a very effective automotive tool.  Virtually all automotive oscilloscopes or lab scopes prior to Pico's entry into the market were "8 bit" oscilloscopes.  The "12 bit" oscilloscopes are 16 times more accurate in displaying the vertical excursions of an input signal than an "8 bit" oscilloscope, providing a more accurate picture of what is happing.   Performance enhancements were built into the PicoScope 3423 and 3223 such as optimized sample rates to get better signal clarity in the horizontal (time) part of the signal, larger buffers (to enhance signal capture and display), and increased voltage input values (from +/- 20 Volts to +/-50 Volts) to be capable of dealing with the very high ignition voltages in the newer automobiles and trucks.

Automotive Diagnostic Software:

For the Automotive Diagnostic Kit an extra drop down menu has been added to the original PicoScope software. The Automotive menu contains a list of the different sensors and circuits that can be tested with the Pico Automotive Diagnostic Kit. When the subject of interest has been selected the PicoScope software will automatically do a number of things:
